CO2 laser treats both superficial and deep skin conditions safely and more aggressively for better outcomes. There are a large number of skin conditions that can be treated using the Ultrapulse CO2 laser.

There are various treatment modes that the machine uses to treat various conditions.

Active FX mode dramatically improves skin texture, skin tone, fine lines and removes brown spots.

Deep FX can lead to dramatic skin tightening and improve deep wrinkles and scars.

Total FX – These treatments can be performed together in a single session to dramatically rejuvenate your skin and remove years of sun-related damage.

SCAAR FX is a powerful, advanced laser technology to treat traumatic, surgical, and acne scars.

The first step is for our patients to have an initial consultation with our Plastic Surgeon who will perform the laser treatment. Depending on the type of procedure, patients will be assessed for their suitability. If all goes well, the surgeon will prescribe pre-treatment prophylactic medications and discuss a routine to follow before laser treatment.

On the day of treatment, your surgeon will see you before the procedure to explain the process again and clarify any questions that you may have. The surgeon will administer local anaesthetic cream to numb the area for 45 minutes before the treatment starts. The procedure can take between 15 minutes to an hour and a half depending on the size of the area to be treated.

After treatment, the areas will feel hot, much like a sunburn for the first 24 to 48 hours. A barrier cream is applied to the treated area to protect the skin.

The surgeon goes through the post-treatment routine that needs to be strictly followed for best results.

t is important to follow the pre-treatment instructions before having a CO2 laser procedure.
o get the expected results, post-treatment instructions need to be followed strictly.

Following the laser treatment, patients will experience a burning sensation for the first few days. There will be swelling of the treated area followed by a gradual sensation of tightening as the effects of the laser treatment occurs. There will be a degree of peeling and crusting which must not be removed, and allowed to naturally drop off. This should resolve itself around 4 to 6 days after treatment. During the peeling and crusting stage, it is not unusual to feel itchy, which is the body’s way of letting you know the healing is happening.

By day 8 to 10, the redness gradually fades, which continues over the following few weeks and can be covered with mineral make-up. Patients are likely to see a dramatic improvement in their skin by 7-10 days post-procedure.

Patients are seen a week after laser treatment to check on the treated areas. We ensure close follow-up and support is arranged during the recovery phase.

Improvements to the treated area will continue over the next 1 year as your body continues to produce more collagen and elastin.

There are a lot of different options including chemical peels at home or in a clinic, micro-needling, radiofrequency machines, IPL and other types of lasers including Nd: YAG and Er: YAG.

The advantage of the Lumenis Ultrapulse CO2 Laser is that as the most powerful in the world, it has the most dramatic effect with less swelling, damage and downtime compared to other lasers. There are over 100 scientific papers that demonstrated its use and versatility, which have quantified it as being six times more powerful than the closest competitor, 4 times the depth penetration and 2 times faster than any other laser.  This means that patients are more likely to get a better effect with just 1 treatment, unlike others where the treatment has to be repeated, in some cases on a monthly basis.
